I just read Home to Big Stone Gap by Adriana Trigiani. It was okay. I don't like when writers try to "write" an accent so they spell the words the way they think it would sound with the accent. It is just a pet peeve of mine.
Anyway, the book is okay. There were parts of the story I loved and parts I didn't.
What is cool though is all of the recipes throughout the book. I am going to go through today and make sure there are none that I want to write out to save.

I have a real problem reading books that "try" to write accents! I just won't read them. Also, have a problem with fiction that is written in first person...
